Where do you source your tallow and ingredients?
We source as much as we can from local purveyors. Our tallow is made with 100% local Pennsylvanian Grass Fed and Finished Suet. Since family is our priority we chose to use only certified organic or ingredients produced using organic practices.
Why tallow for skincare?
Tallow has been used in skincare for centuries and is one of the closest bio-identical oils you can chose for your skin. We have chosen to use only local grass fed and finished suet which is the most nutrient dense section of fat. It is high in vitamins A, D, E and K. It also has fatty acid profile including Oleic, Stearic, Palmitic, Alpha-Linolenic (Omega-3), and Conjugated Linoleic (Omega-6).
Is your tallow grass fed and finished?
Yes! All of our tallow products are from local grass fed and finished farms. We have chosen to only use the suet fat which is the most nutrient dense fat around the kidneys. It is also one of the cleaner, most stable and refined fats which we carefully render for purity.

We scent our formulations through slow infusions of organic botanicals and traditional methods like maceration, capturing a natural, nuanced aroma in every batch.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
Tallow is considered a very good choice for sensitive skin and has been the go-to for many with skin conditions as it has a very similar structure to our own sebum. However, as with anything, we recommend doing a patch test.
How should I store my products?
We recommend storing at room temp for softness or in the fridge for extended life. At room temperature, we recommend using within 6-12 months.
This balm is made with natural fats and botanicals and may be temperature sensitive, especially during warmer months. If it arrives softened or melted, simply allow it to return to room temperature. It will firm back up and remain perfectly usable.
Every batch is made by hand, and natural variations in texture or appearance are part of the process.
Does the tallow smell like beef?
We gently purify our tallow to remove most of the natural beefy scent, and blend it with jojoba oil to create a balm that’s very mild and close to odorless.
Because we keep our process minimal, a faint natural scent may still be noticeable to some people using our unscented balms, but it is subtle and not something most customers detect.
When will I get my order?
Orders are typically shipped within 1-2 business days and arrive between 3-5 business days after shipping.
